A Zoom Gathering for our Camp and Conference Leaders is Held Every Third Thursday - Our monthly Zoom calls are held every third Thursday of the month at 11:00am EDT. These Zoom call with your fellow camp and conference leaders will cover a specific topic, as well as offer mutual support. We hope you will be a part of the conversation each month. What changes are you planning on making for summer 2025? Please come ready to share your stories. We hope you will join us for a time of fellowship and mutual support among your fellow camp and conference leaders.  Our October Zoom call is scheduled for Thursday, October 17 at 11:00am EasternOur guest speaker will be Donnie Keele, who heads up Media and Learning at UltraCamp. His session is titled, “What Students Want: A Research-Based Approach to Recruiting & Retaining Camp Staff.” Hiring and retaining staff is getting harder for camps each year. Some of the reasons seem obvious: internships, better pay, and academic progress have all been factors for a while now. But is that just the way it is? Over the past year, UltraCamp has conducted a study that explores how collegiate students think about and approach summer opportunities – asking what they value, when they plan, and how they finalize their decisions. This session will break down the findings and make some recommendations for camp leaders to consider as they begin recruiting for the next season of camp.
